- Opportunities beyond the gates
What is Beyond the Gates?
- #BTG Workshops focus on sharing knowledge and best practice with a strong emphasis on being different and getting outside the comfort zone of the internal school bubble. For instance, embedding the culture of fundraising into state schools. All funding is not solely be government dependent.
- #BTG recognises how difficult external partnerships and revenue raising is to achieve particularly if the workload in building reputation, recruitment, resource and revenue is not properly resourced and researched.
- RMG Associates seeks to facilitate this process for delegates. A glance at Richards’s short biography will illustrate how.
March 18th workshop brought together:
- Over 50 primary and secondary schools
- Commercial, charitable, cultural and sporting organisations
All seeking to add value to our constantly embattled and challenged education sector.
Our Education Sector is too internally focused and denies its school communities the wealth of opportunities “Beyond the Gates”. The Gates themselves symbolise not only how safe are schools are but also how inaccessible they are to external positive influences.
Richard Garrett

Discussions included:
1. The Livery Movement
2. Funding Talent and Hardship from externally raised charitable revenue
3. Delivering a Community Story through cost effective Communications Software and Content #GlobalBay #GadgetLineFilms
4. Generating community revenue through a shift to sustainable energy #Barkers
5. Improving Class Belonging and Well Being through #ASPBelong #Lina As well as students engaging in scientific research
6. Addressing the apparent need to enrich the Arts in our schools with one MAT having to rely on students to provide the inspiration #PriceEducation #JackPepper #AstorTheatre #UnicornTheatre

We are acutely aware that that we only benefit from these opportunities because of the work you do for us. I know how much it must take you do this and so I wanted to share just how much it means to our family of schools. You know as well as anyone that the world we work in is challenging, constantly being asked to do more with less, and so to be able to gain additional support, whether financial or expertise, is so warmly welcomed. You have been a long-term supporter of ours and I see your impact all the time.
We’re only a small trust but we’re trying to do great things in increasingly challenging setting and any support we get helps us along the way. So much of what we have achieved is directly down to your involvement.

Thanks Richard. It was a really good session. We left feeling like we were inspired.
If you would like to arrange another session, we would be very happy to host it.
